Bulgaria is home to several impressive mountain ranges, including Rila, Pirin, the Rhodopes and the Balkan Mountains.
Rila is famous for its high peaks and the Rila Monastery, while Pirin offers spectacular alpine landscapes and popular hiking destinations. The Balkan Mountains stretch across much of the country and provide numerous opportunities for hiking and outdoor activities.
During winter, Bulgarian mountain resorts also attract visitors for skiing and snowboarding.
